🎪 How we built our own bespoke NFT ticketing system
2023 is all about pushing our role as a Web3 event further.
A key part of this has been designing a bespoke NFT ticketing system that maximizes the NFT-driven experiences we can provide. Our first step towards this was rewarding the key NFT communities with private ticketing sales 👇
Next, to bring our NFT ticketing full circle, we needed a trusted partner and pioneer who shared our vision and commitment to on-chain systems. So we turned to OpenGem. 🤟
OpenGem provides tools for users and developers to secure ownership of digital assets.

Together with OpenGem we developed a state-of-the-art on-chain solution for ticketing.

👉🏾 It means that we have used best practice on-chain methods to ensure long-term ownership.
A 100/100 Gem Score means that:
Owners can retrieve their original artwork on Arweave and IPFS.
Owners can retrieve an on-chain image version of the NFT.
Owners can prove their ownership by hashing the original artwork using the SHA-256 algorithm and matching the result with the stored proof.
Absolutely no one can alter or delete the artwork and the proof, as soon as the Ethereum blockchain exists.

🧪 THE METADATA
1. The original version of the NFT animation is hosted at 2 locations:
First - on the Arweave blockchain @onlyarweave @ArweaveTeam
Arweave is a great decentralized, permanent storage solution. Based on Blockweave, a derivative of the blockchain and proof of access. As long as Blockweave exists, the image will be available. No one can alter or delete the asset.

Second - on IPFS protocol @IPFS
IPFS is a distributed system for storing and accessing files or assets. This is not a blockchain. To be sure about the data availability, someone needs to "pin" your data on IPFS nodes. In this case, OpenGem takes care of it.

The Arweave and IPFS references (hashes) are written on-chain in the smart contract. They are public and constant variables. No one can rewrite or delete it, as long as Ethereum exists.
2. An image version of the animation has been stored on-chain. Yes, on-chain!
This backup helps secure NFT ownership. If Arweave or IPFS fail for any reason, as long as Ethereum Blockchain still exists, owners can retrieve a backup.
This backup is locked and sealed: no one can alter or delete it.

3. The provenance proof of the original artwork visual is written on-chain in the smart contract.
This is a public and constant variable and an SHA-256 hash that any user can use to prove the provenance.
No one can rewrite or delete it, as long as Ethereum exists.

4. The description (text) of the ticket is written on-chain too.
This guarantees your rights to access the event.
